    Featured Friend
    Stewie
    Stewie

Stewie is a happy little boy whose tail is always wagging. He would love to find a home with an active and playful individual or family who will help keep him busy. Stew is happiest when on the move. In good weather he will spend most of the day exploring in his foster family’s fenced-in yard. On rainy days he prefers to be inside but sometimes is frustrated by the lack of activity. At 18 months old, Stewie still has a lot of puppyish behavior and is slowly but steadily learning the rules and routines of family/house life. He wants very much to please but needs consistent and firm discipline to keep his basic hound qualities from getting the best of him—for example, he can stubbornly forget to hear you calling when he’s busy “on the scent” of something interesting. Stewie weighs almost 50 pounds, is lean, strong, very fast and a great jumper, so a secure fenced yard is highly recommended. He is good about his crate and goes right in to lie down at nighttime. Stewie really is a sweetheart and with a little time and training will be a terrific companion doggy.
